Mission Statement
CAREing for Children is a 501©(3) organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children in need and their families. One hundred percent of donations are used locally and brighten the lives of those most vulnerable in our community.
Your participation and financial support enables us to raise thousands of dollars to buy gifts and food boxes that are ultimately donated to under privileged children and families. These gifts are distributed to charitable organizations in Ocean County including Providence House, Faith Community Church Food Pantry, United Methodist Church Food Pantry, Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s Church Food Pantry and over a dozen more.
As a volunteer organization, 100% of donations remaining after the golf event expenses are dedicated to supporting those in need. In August of 2024, we donated 100 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed to children in our community who desperately needed them.

A Tradition of Giving
CAREing for Children began in the late 1980s when Ocean County Business Association members collected toys at their holiday party. Under the tireless leadership of the late Clare Bojus, the program grew to include food drives, school-supply campaigns, and our signature golf outing. As the golf committee chair in 2019, Mike Reilly did a wonderful job in inspiring OCBA members and raised more funds than we had ever raised before for this event. Though we lost Clare and Mike, their legacy lives on in every backpack delivered, every holiday gift wrapped, and every family we help. Learn More About CAREing For Children >

Why Your Support Matters
- 100 % local impact – funds stay right here in Ocean County.
- $160,000+ raised to date – benefiting Providence House, Faith Community Church, the Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, and many more.
- No overhead – volunteers donate their time, talent, and “elbow grease,” so donations go where they’re needed most.
In August 2024, gifts from our supporters filled and distributed 100 fully-stocked backpacks. This holiday season—and all year long—we aim to do even more.
